PERSON.

my name is courtney guttenberg, or courtney eg, or GLOOM, depending on who you ask. i’m a multidisciplinary visual artist, writer and musician from upstate new york. in my past life, i was a streetwear designer, layout manager / co-editor of a magazine, and a DJ. now, i’m using my art and poetry to navigate through three decades of neurodivergence. i now make music under a few different names and produce under the name cørdyceps.

i love everything weird, surreal and absurd, as well as everything related to branding, professional design and minimalism. i started designing at 17 and have a background in communications, film editing, photography and audio editing. i love to collaborate with other artists, musicians, and small businesses looking to grow their brand. i’ve edited podcasts, worked on full-scale video art installations and one time i played a cover show where i had to be all three beastie boys.

currently, i’m focused heavily on making the world a better place one pixel at a time with non-profit work and art that challenges the status quo and beyond. i’m also working on my substack exclusive fiction story, INANIMATE OBJECTS, which i hope to create physical copies of in the future, as well as my first full-length novel, CLOSING TIME AT THE BAR IN HELL.

my favorite show is aqua teen hunger force. my favorite movie is fight club. my favorite food is four cheese rice-a-roni. in my spare time, i love to watch bad tv, hang out with my two black cats and listen to 808 samples on repeat.
